  Worth the wait for sure. Been wearing it non-stop since I got it this week.
  
  A word on the sizing: I'm a skinny 5' 11", 150 lb and the Medium was waaay too small. I sent back for a Large. And the L fits me perfect. So keep that in mind when you figure out your sizing. I'm a "medium" in most brands, but Large was definitely the right size for my skinny frame.

  I ordered this on 2/2/13 and just got it 4/27/13. Was it worth the wait? Yeah, but now it's 75 degrees out. Oh well. I'll sport it during evening bbqs this summer and spring. It is very well constructed and made of great quality everything, but the fit is snug. I'm a 36w about 5'10". If you saw me you wouldn't think that I was overweight. I have a gut. I'm 42, so sue me. Anyway, I originally ordered it L but then changed my mind and bumped it up to XL. REALLY glad I did. Even at the larger size it isn't slouchy at all, but I'm pretty sure that L would have been a little too form fitting. Anyway, the customer service with AG is tops. No phone tree, I just called during their hours and talked to a person and they changed my size no problem. Very happy. I just wished it was cooler outside.

  The quality is actually a little over the top. It's overbuilt.
  
  The cut is great. They use multiple panels of fabric to make this sweatshirt fit rather than taking the garbage bag with sleeves approach to tailoring that you see in other shirts.
  
  Be aware that the fit is slim. I'm 6'1" and about 195 lbs and a large is a little snug.

  These reviews are so glowing- it's hard to believe, but this hoodie is beautiful.
  The workmanship is outstanding. American Giant has hired all the best [seamsters?] in the Nation , [with OCD},
  Gorgeous , my Son looks sharp. I ordered an XL and he usually wears L. [6'1 200 lbs] I ordered 3 more for my other Son and nephews.
  Exactly as others have said, it is fitted , but not tight. I want someone to buy me one.
  Wish they made Big and Tall- my Dad deserves to own this great hoodie too.......

  I cannot convey in mere words how much I love this hoodie. I was one of the lucky ones that ordered in early December when the Salon article came out raising AG's profile and orders through the roof.
  
  I ordered my burnt orange hoodie on 12/5 and received it within a week. (kinda glad I got that color too since it is no longer offered) This thing is a tank - I have worn this hoodie nearly every day since I got it. I get home from work and this is the hoodie I throw on around the house. Heading to the bar? Hoodie goes on.
  
  Don't think about the cost - it is worth every penny. It will outlive every hoodie currently in your closet and you will be supporting an American company. That's a win-win if you ask me.
  
  Now excuse me while I go order another one.

  Heard about the product through slate.com like many others. Asked for one for my birthday and have not been disappointed. The medium is a good size, but a little small for me, 5'11" 170, so thinking a large for the next. Going to get others for sure, works great with a vest as well. Solid design, great material and love the fit.

  I've had this for a few days now and I can't emphasize how much I love this jacket. You can immediately tell how high of a quality garment just by picking it up. It has a certain heft to it. At first I thought it might be a bit heavier than I wanted, but after wearing it I was so relieved. It's warm but it didn't get too hot.
  
  The stitching and material is really nice, and the inside is super soft!!
  
  Overall: SO WORTH THE WAIT! This is an amazing jacket that will last you a LONG time!!

  I waited 3 months for this hoodie and boy was I mad. I wish I could say that that it's overrated, that I'll never wait that long again, that you shouldn't either ... but that would be a lie. This hoodie is fantastic. Extremely well made, fits perfectly, comfy, warm. Actually exceeded my media inflated expectations. I hate to make the waiting list even longer but all the hype is totally true.

  Pre-Washed!!!! I am so happy to find a company that is honest and decent enough to pre-wash their products. No more buying a hoodie and having to give it to your little brother after you wash it lol

  Just got my hoodie with a fast delivery considering I'm stationed overseas (2 weeks). Wore it out the box in 39 degree weather and felt fine. I have a couple more on pre-order and can't wait till they come in too.

  Did I have to wait from December until late February to get a sweatshirt? Yes.
  
  Was it entirely worth the wait? Absolutely. This thing feels bulletproof. I have tailored sport coats that aren't as intricately constructed as this seemingly simple zip-up sweatshirt is.
  
  The reinforced forearm/elbows are killer. I have another sweatshirt in the queue, and I look forward to its arrival but it may never see use -- this may well be the first sweatshirt I don't blow out inside of the first year.

  I never write reviews. But this is a product that deserves it. It lives up to the promise - in fact, it exceeds it by far. Not only is it clear that this is a company that cares about its products, but it is shockingly well-made. The weave is denser than I imagined, it's sturdy, it fits wonderfully, and it's just a pleasure to wear. This went way beyond my expectations, and that's after reading the articles and waiting excitedly week after week for it to arrive. Well worth the wait, and a steal at the price. Shows what Made in America can really mean.

  Fortunately I ordered this awhile ago so received it in time to give to my husband for Cmas. He LOVES the zip hooded sweatshirt. Based on previous comments, I ordered up a size. It's a little long but, other than that, a great fit. He said he will never need to buy another sweatshirt since this one is so well made (but, of course he will and it will be American Giant!) - and he is thrilled that it is made in the USA. We are telling everyone to support American Giant!

  I stumbled across this site while doing some online Christmas shopping and bought a hoodie for my nephews upcoming birthday (because that's pretty much all he wears).
  
  When it arrived, I tried it on and.....well, I've been wearing it around until I have to give it up (and I've never cared for hoodies).
  
  The fit and feel is outstanding.....and looks like it will hold up really well over time. I'm definitely going to be buying one for myself.

  After reading Manjoo's article, it tempted me to buy this hoodie. I don't think the pictures do the hoodie all the justice it deserves. What I love about the hoodie is the fit and comfort and especially how the pockets sit. If you're a wife or girlfriend looking for a nice present for your man, I would definitely recommend this. There size chart is spot on, so don't deviate from that.

  I was confused by my order status so I called the company and left a message. Within hours I received an extremely helpful and apologetic call back. Anne let me know that my sweatshirt was on its way and gave me a tracking number. So in addition to making the alleged best sweatshirts of all time, American Giant also has customer service on lock.

  i really don't like to buy jackets, coats or sweater / sweatshirts that don't have a two way zipper. esp for biking, hiking' drivin' or yardwork...like doin' something you might get warmer doin' and maybe sweat in your shirt. so havin' a ventilation option is a double++

  Every year I buy a new "super comfortable" hoodie, which ends up on a shelf in my closet (at this point, with about 15 "colleagues") when I pull out my ultra-broken-in, super-comfy college sweatshirt.
  
  Not this year.
  
  My American Giant zip hoodie has gotten more wear in the past month than some of those shelved hoodies ever saw. And my college sweatshirt is enjoying its well-earned retirement.

  i bought a size small zip up, and i must say it is an amazing hoodie!! great quality, very thick and nice stitching too. fit snug but not tight. the price is great. im 5'6 and 145 a size small is perfect. will be buying more from american giant!! thanks anne =)

  I hate to be redundant, but, yeah, it's the best hoodie I've ever owned. I've had mine for a few months now and am just as in love with it as the day I got it. Honestly, I normally can (and usually do) come up with some sort of critique, but I got nothing here. The price seemed steep to me initially, but then I received the sweatshirt. I will be buying at least one or two more. These babies will last. Amazing, solid zipper. Metal hardware keeping the hood drawstrings from fraying. Heavy material, heavy stitching, And don't get scared off by the patches/doubled material/whatever you call it. It looks good. For reference, I am 5'8" and weigh 145, wiry runner-type; I ordered a small and it has a perfect fit: trim, tailored lines, but not so tight that the hoodie rides too far up when I lift my arms.

  I wear hoodies 6 days a week and here is what I think about this one:
  
  The Material
  I can't believe that this hoodie is legal. There must be some law that forbids making clothes from baby ocelot skins. Wait, what? Cotton? Excuse me for one second, I am going to go slap every other hoodie manufacturer that claims their hoodies are made from cotton.
  
  The Cut
  This is the Vitruvian Hoodie. I am pretty sure that American Giant hires psychics to communicate Leonardo's designs to the XXIst century. It feels perfect in every way, loose enough, yet tight enough.
  
  The Zipper
  My girlfriend was very disappointed. I invited her over to "unzip my hoodie" and it took her some time to realize that I actually did invite her to try out the zipper. It flows like vodka in Russia.
  
  Conclusion
  Most people dream about getting married, having kids, buying a house or going to Mars. I don't need any of those dreams now - I have this hoodie (OK, going to Mars would be cool, but ONLY if I could wear this hoodie there).

  Densely-woven beauty. The close fit and long funnel cuffs make for modern, crisp look that coaxes the best from cotton. The brass zipper looks and feels substantial, but does not glide without some friction. Cost permitting, a two-way zipper might be a decent option to prevent the dreaded "pot-belly-effect" when sitting down with the hoodie zipped. Overall, a fine, substantial piece.

  perfect. so good I bought it in three colors. i can't stress enough how good this garment is. fitted and classic at the same time. its a little on the long side, which is perfect for me(maybe you to?) stop reading and just buy it. you'll never regret it.

  This is the best hoodie ever I bought two! I plan on getting every color! I went to bite the pull string and found out that it was metal and was so excited that it wouldn't end up like all my other cheap sweatshirts with chewed up draw strings hehe.... Got to love American made! Can't wait to thow out all my Woolrich India/China made clothes and cycle in my new American Giant clothes. Thank you so much for making high quality good fitting clothes. Even the stitching is great, would like to see a total double stitch but who know maybe if you have quality products to begin with you won't need a double stich everywhere... Props American Giant! Make me more clothes so I can buy it!

  I absolutely love this sweatshirt! Hands down best I've ever owned. The zipper is so sturdy and the material thick and beautifully made - it's a great value because it'll last forever. After ordering one for my husband, I got one for myself because I didn't want to give his back!

  I read the other reviews about how nice this hoodie is but thought, how nice can a hoodie be?? Well, I stand corrected. This thing is heavy! It really does feel like something the world stopped making in the 60's. It probably sounds odd but I feel like some kind of astronaut from the Apollo era wearing this thing. The craftsmanship is amazing. I am 6'2" 165 lbs and the large fits me perfectly. I am literally ruined for anything else in the category. Only two things I would say could be improved - the outer tag on the bottom seems almost temporarily stitched. Perhaps it is meant to be so. No a big deal but doesn't seem to match the heft of the rest of the garment. And second, I would prefer a loop on the inside to hang it from a coat hook. Otherwise this thing is unreal - I will almost certainly order at least one more in a different color.

  This is a ridiculously nice hoodie - the best I've had and i have quite a few stupidly costly hoodies. I wanted to write this review for any female bodied persons who are considering this hoodie. Im 5'6", 110lbs. I threw a size small in a hot wash and dried it to shrink it up a little and it came out beautifully. It shrank an inch in width all around, so it's quite nice and fits close to the body but not too close. Very hard not to buy this one in another color - its really extraordinarily nice.

  Just got the burnt-orange full zip hooded sweatshirt and love it! It's very warm, sturdy and fits snugly. Certainly a high-quality product. Feels like a real sweatshirt as opposed to those paper-thin ones you get at Target. Comparable to the Abercrombie & Fitch ones but at a reasonable price :-)
