Job Title: Junior Staff Accountant

American Giant is a rapidly growing, American-made apparel brand and makers of “The Greatest Hoodie Ever Made”. We are looking for an analytical, motivated and dependable accounting professional to become our Junior Staff Accountant. This position will assist in providing the organization with key financial information by maintaining and reconciling accounts and preparing reports to aid management in decision making. The Junior Staff Accountant will also play a critical role in accounting processes such as accounts payable and will report to the Senior Accounting Manager.


The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Daily accounts payable management including entering invoices, ensuring payment accuracy, analyzing discrepancies and processing employee expense reports
  • Entry of employee payroll data such as PTO/Sick time and hours worked for payroll processing
  • Assist in the monthly and year-end closings by performing assigned closing journal entries, reconciliations, booking of accruals and prepaid entries
  • Prepare and maintain monthly financial schedules and reports such as depreciation and prepayment schedules
  • Work cross-functionally with Operations to ensure accuracy of inventory levels
  • Annual 1099 preparation for contractors and vendors
  • Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure accuracy
  • Assist the Senior Accounting Manager and Staff Accountant with all internal control policies
  • Maintain and organize documents archive to ensure audit readiness
  • Help maintain consistent accounting policies across the organization


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Accounting with a minimum of 1 year of accounting experience
  • Proven track record and experience in accounting
  • Advanced skills in Excel (pivot tables & vlookup a must)
  • Experience with Netsuite or other ERP preferred
  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
  • Outstanding organizational skills, strong listening skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks/projects, juggle deadlines, and diligence in finishing tasks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and vendors to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
