Greatest_American_T-shirt
When you spend your time making clothes in the US it causes you to think about the great American styles. The list comes together pretty quickly: blue jeans, the flannel shirt, the pullover sweatshirt, sweatpants. But there is no question that the T-shirt is at the top.
Why? Why did such a basic garment, that traces its roots back to function (first designed as a utilitarian undergarment, then adopted widely by the military and then by athletes) become such an icon of American fashion?
The answer, of course, has its roots in America itself. Unlike the runways of Paris, or the flair of Milan, America has always found its greatness, its style, in the people that wear the clothes that are made here. The T-shirt, humble in origin, is about the wearer. James Dean, Debbie Harry, Marlon Brando, Elle Macpherson, Steve McQueen—their very essence made the T-shirt cool.
Have a look at the T-shirts that we make, with care, at American Giant. In close partnership with our suppliers, built to last, they are made the way we think they should be. And if we have done our job well, they will play a supporting role in letting the style of you shine.

HOMEGROWN INGREDIENTS
It began with finding trusted partners. We believed it was important to have a conversation around our starting ingredient, cotton. We built relationships with farmers like Jerry Hamill of Latros Farms to understand the process and where cotton comes from.
This localized approach to sourcing your materials allows you to have more control over the quality of the final product. We get to see our garments come to life from farm to final product with people who are also invested in quality. We're committed to making it local and supporting communities.
PEOPLE BEFORE PRODUCT
Greatness comes from quality and doing more with the people you trust. The average consumer has no idea how many people had a part in making a garment come to life before it hits the shelves.
Our supply chain is full of unsung heroes. We understand that people come before product and without the help of these skilled men and women throughout our supply chain American Giant would not be able to do what we do. We want to tip our hats to all the farmers, factory managers, sewers, quality control, shift leads and more!
