Our Product Guarantee

We stand by our products at American Giant. We guarantee everything we make to be free of workmanship and material defects. This does not cover the natural breakdown of material and color from use or damages caused by normal wear and tear, accident, or improper care.

During the busy holiday season, we’re temporarily pausing new product guarantee requests so our team can focus on processing holiday orders and returns. Product guarantee submissions will reopen on  January 15th . Thank you for your understanding.

Guarantee Questions

Please email our Customer Service team at service@american-giant.com with the following information:

  • Your order number
  • Your current shipping address
  • Clear photos:
    • one photo of the full product
    • one close-up photo of the damage
    • one photo of the inner-tag on the left-hand side of the body (the white tag showing lot/cut numbers)

Please allow 4-5 business days for your warranty request to be reviewed. Our customer service team will contact you via email with next steps.

While we fully stand by our materials and workmanship though “normal wear and tear” is a part of any well-loved item's lifetime and is not covered under warranty. Here are some examples that are not covered:

  • Fraying cuffs from repeated use
  • Slight shrinkage or fading from repeated laundering
  • Small rips or tears from repeated use and laundering
  • Color discoloration due to deodorant, perfumes or colognes
  • Button or zipper damage from repeated laundering

Taking good care of your AG items will add to their lifetime. Always turn your items inside-out, zipping or buttoning them up if necessary, before putting them in the washer or dryer. Please see the Care section on each product page for more information.

Material defects refers to zippers, buttons, fabrics, and any other components used in the construction of our products. Workmanship is specific to the seams and assembly of our products.

We recommend following the care instructions listed on each garment. Most items are directed to machine wash cold and tumble dry low with like colors. If your item has a zipper or snaps, please zip or snap completely before washing and drying. If your item has a drawcord, we recommend tying a small knot, so the cord doesn’t come out during the wash or dry cycle.
