To Our Valued Customers,

In mid-March we joined a coalition of domestic manufacturers who have come together to address the massive shortage of masks facing the country.

Since then, we’ve worked to retool our North Carolina facilities and retrain our team of remarkable seamstresses. Effective March 24th, we are making face masks and distributing them to the front line personnel that are confronting this crisis. Our initial target is 35,000 masks per week, and we expect to be climbing aggressively from there. We are deeply grateful to our NC team of seamstresses, supervisors, and managers who have stepped in to help–they are true heroes themselves.

We ask for your patience and understanding as we stop production of American Giant products in support of this effort. You may experience some out of stocks in the coming weeks, but we trust that you will understand. Right now we need masks more than sweatshirts!

As always, we are grateful to you, our incredible customers, who allow us to be in a position to help.

Be Giant,

Bayard

The global response to the COVID-19 pandemic is constantly changing, and we at American Giant wanted to share with you how we are helping stop the spread, and how the pandemic is affecting our service.

Time to Lead

On March 17th, Bayard Winthrop, our Founder and CEO, shared a letter with the American Giant community

To all of you (and me), let’s do our part, even if it doesn’t feel right, or the “tough” thing to do. We owe it to the more vulnerable among us. Let’s wash our hands. All the time and vigorously. Work from home if you can. Avoid group gatherings. Don’t travel unless it’s critical. Stay in touch with those that are isolated. Call your parents. Let them hear your voice and see the kids. Hug your children. Tell people you love them. Stay optimistic and look ahead. We need leaders right now, and you are one. This is a good moment to let that leader shine.

Making Masks

American Giant joined a coalition of domestic manufacturers coming together to address the massive shortage of masks facing the country. We retooled our North Carolina facilities and retrained our team of remarkable sewers. We are now making face masks and distributing them to front line personnel. Our initial target is 35,000 masks per week, and we expect to be climbing aggressively from there.

We are not in it alone. Following our supply chain partner Parkdale Mills, American Giant is a member of a growing coalition. Coordinated through the National Coalition of Textile Organizations (NCTO), we are proud to be working with Parkdale Mills, Hanesbrands, Fruit of the Loom, Los Angeles Apparel, AST Sportswear, Sanmar, America Knits, Beverly Knits, and Riegel Line. Within four to five weeks, our coalition expects to produce up to 10 million masks a week.

Can I or my hospital / health facility / community buy masks directly from American Giant?

As we’ve ramped up our production efforts, we are now in a position to offer them to our customers as well. Starting April 27th, these masks are available on our website in packs of five. Shop now. For bulk orders (500 masks or more) please reach out to masks@American-Giant.com.

What type of masks are you making?

These masks are 100% cotton and also contain silver and copper which help kill or stop the growth of viruses and germs.

Can we help in the manufacturing of surgical masks in some other way?

We have been inspired by the response of individuals around the country to pitch in and help address these shortages, including members of our own team spending time at home to sew masks for family, friends, and local health care workers. We highly recommend that you reach out to local health facilities in your area in order to best address their needs.

How will COVID-19 affect American Giant’s business?

We ask for your patience and understanding as we pause production of American Giant products to make masks instead. You may experience some out of stocks in the coming weeks, but right now we need masks more than sweatshirts.

We still have inventory available on our website, and we are currently shipping orders. Our operations team and logistics partners are closely monitoring updates from the CDC and the WHO about package handling and delivery. If you are experiencing a delay in getting your package, please contact us at service@American-Giant.com.

What about returns and refunds?
