Purchases from American Giant may be returned within 30 days from the date of purchase. The item(s) must be unworn, unwashed, and undamaged.

Start in the Returns Portal (required)

  1. Go to our Returns Portal.
  2. Enter your order number and the ZIP code used at checkout.
  3. Select the item(s) you’re sending back and tell us whether you want a refund or an exchange.
  4. Choose how you’d like to return the item:
    • Happy Returns Bar (no box or label, free)
    • Mail-in (print-at-home label, $7 fee)

Now follow the steps for the option you picked:

  1. Happy Returns Bar – free, fast, no packaging
    Bring the item(s) and the QR code we emailed you to any Happy Returns Bar. They’ll scan the code, take the items (no box needed), and your refund or exchange is triggered on the spot. This is usually visible in your account within a day or two.
  2. Mail-in return – $7 processing fee
    Print the prepaid label, pack the item, and drop it with the carrier shown. We’ll email you when it arrives at our warehouse; refunds typically post within 7–10 business days from drop-off, and exchanges ship as soon as the return is scanned.
  3. In-store return – free, immediate
    If you’re near an American Giant retail store, you can skip the portal: just bring the item and your order number to the store. We’ll handle the refund or exchange on the spot.

    Purchases made in a retail store can only be returned in store.

American Giant accepts returns or exchanges on unworn, unwashed, and undamaged items within 30 days of purchase.


  • Free returns are available in store or through your local Happy Returns Bar.
  • Mail-in returns are available with a $7 shipping label fee.
  • Exchanges can only be made for a different size or color of the same product.
  • Shipping fees are non-refundable.
  • All discounted items purchased during sales are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged.

For international orders, return shipping costs are covered by the customer. Please ship your return to the address below with a copy of your order details.

We currently do not allow exchanges for International orders.

If you have questions regarding an international return, please contact service@american-giant.com. Shipping for returns from outside the United States are covered by the customer.

The new exchange order will be placed upon receipt of the original item(s) by Happy Returns:

  • For exchanges done in Return Bar: You will receive a notification of the new order placed immediately when you drop off your item in the return bar.

  • For exchanges via mail: You will receive a notification of the new order placed when the item has arrived in Happy Returns.

After you drop off your item, if the item you want to exchange has gone out of stock you will receive a refund email instead and you will receive a refund for your items.

If you have received a damaged, defective, or incorrect item, contact service@american-giant.com with a photo of the damage, or the wrong item you received, as well as your order number. We’ll take care of you.

All discounted items purchased during sales are final sale and cannot be returned for a refund. Additionally, all pricing on items on these pages is final. Additional discounting can't be added retroactively after purchase.

Yes. Any product marked “Final Sale” on our website is not eligible for return or exchange. You’ll see the “Final Sale” label on the product page and again in your order confirmation. All prices on Final Sale items are final and non-refundable.

If you return an item(s) from an order that was purchased with a Visa gift card, be sure to keep the card information. We will credit the amount of the purchase back onto the Visa gift card. Please note: If the card or card information is lost, we cannot recover the refunded amount.

Once your items have been processed at a Happy Returns Return Bar your refund will be initiated immediately. If you are sending your return VIA mail, your return will be refunded upon inspection which can take 10-14 days. Once our refund process is complete, please allow 5-7 business days for your refund to be processed by your bank.

We offer a lifetime warranty for material defects and workmanship. This does not include normal wear and tear. For questions on warranty claims please see our Lifetime Warranty page.
